• The Body Shop: Christmas Preview

Wednesday 10th October 2018 for many marked World Mental Health Day, so it seemed only appropriate that The Body Shop down in Brighton, should host a VIP Bloggers Event promoting their latest seasonal ranges for Halloween and Christmas as well as the importance of self care.

Naturally good mental health starts with healthy eating, so it seemed rather fitting that the store should also choose to partner with Leon who offer healthy alternatives to fast food.

The restaurant provided us with some delicious tasters from their vegan food and drinks menu which included their spicy lentil masala,  fruity mango and blueberry pots and refreshing goiji berry and passion fruit juicy waters to wash it all down with.

After sampling some of the delights that Leon had to offer, we were then left to mingle with all the local bloggers and explore the latest products that the store had to offer.

This was shortly followed by a talk about the importance of looking after ourselves, a little overview of how the evening would unfold and a sneak preview of some of their exciting Christmas range which included three new scents as part of their enchanted forest collection – peppermint candycane, vanilla marshmallow and berry bon bon.

I have never been particularly fussed about beauty calendars and would always sway towards the traditional chocolate filled offerings from Cadbury’s. But I have to say Freddie the fox and his chums which include Olivia the owl and Dani the deer could be about to sway me. Prices start from £45 for their standard enchanted version, but I have to say with an array of goodies on offer from coconut body scrub, almond hand cream, strawberry shampoo and vanilla bath bombs to name just a few and a combined total worth up to £85 there really is nothing basic about this little gem.

If you fancy treating yourself or a loved one then make sure you check out their Ultimate calendar for £99 (worth £231) from Freddie the fox who is filed with 25 surprises which are designed to leave you feeling re-energised after all those Christmas parties and endless hours of shopping. In keeping with their mental wellbeing theme, the calendar also comes with a set of daily tasks for you to complete to help you reconnect with nature. What’s more, your empty boxes can be put together to create a picture puzzle which reveals some beautiful creatures roaming in the wilderness.

With hand massages, beauty makeovers, skincare consultations and the option to personalise our very own body butters we were spoilt for choice on how to spend our evening. Sadly, my Sister was unable to attend the event, so I decided to get a body butter made up with her name on as a little thank you for being my wonderful Sister. As a Mum of two she very rarely gets time to pamper herself and just relax, so I knew she would love this idea.

Next I decided to treat myself to their vegan banana body yogurt which smells sooooooo good and I had been eyeing it up since April when I attended another VIP Bloggers event at the Brighton store. I am so glad I decided to get it, as it was an absolute bargain at just £4.50 and I have already used it at work everyday. I find washing my hands and the changing weather has made them really dry, but this vegan banana body yoghurt helps to combat that and every time I get a whiff on the scent I feel like I am transported back to the sunny shores of Alcudia beach in Mallorca.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without having a go at the guess the scent game, where we were blindfolded and had to guess the scent (kind of self explanatory I know). Sadly I didn’t win a prize as I only got one right, but I didn’t walk away empty handed, as the store gave each of us a very generous goody bag which was filled with vouchers from Leon and lots of beauty goodies which I will be sharing with you over on my Instagram and YouTube channel shortly, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that.

Thank you so much to The Body Shop in Brighton for hosting such a fun-packed evening and to Leon for let us sample your delicious dishes and drinks. Will you be purchasing any of their festive calendars this year?

    Love Emma
