“Lace and Favour are a gorgeous online wedding emporium”

If you’re not already familiar with the brand, Lace and Favour are a gorgeous online wedding emporium who offer a wide range of stunning pieces. Their beautiful collections will ensure that they take the hassle of finding the perfect accessories for your big day away from you, so you can get back to focusing on that list of tasks that need doing before your wedding.

As a bride-to-be, discovering Lace and Favour has meant that I can now find the perfect gifts for my bridesmaids and shop for my own jewellery, shoes or venue decor in one place. This has undoubtedly helped to restore my previous relaxed deposition, whilst also ensuring that planning is exactly as it should be – fun!

When Lace and Favour asked me to review their stunning Belmont earrings and necklace, it naturally got me thinking about the bigger picture, namely how one could incorporate this season’s hottest trend – rose gold – into all of the individual aspects that help to make your day unique and a true reflection of you both as a couple. The versatility of rose gold means it can be paired with navy for a winter affair or blush pink tones for an alfresco summer wedding.

So, if you are seeking both a feminine and luxe ambience for your special event, then keep on reading as I will be sharing some of my favourite ideas from decor to bridesmaids, from cakes to invitations and last but not least my very own pieces from the Lace and Favour jewellery collections.

Colour Scheme

If you are considering colour schemes for your wedding, then Pinterest is the perfect place to start. This is especially true if you are thinking about incorporating rose gold as it is a colour that can be combined with several primary colours – creating an ambience that is unique to you as a couple and also for the season or location of your venue. Whether you are seeking to create a sophisticated, elegant or glamorous affair, this is a colour scheme that can easily be incorporated into your whole day. I personally love the traditional blush and rose gold combination, as it is incredibly pretty and adds a touch of sparkle.

Your wedding stationary is your guests’ first glimpse into your wedding day and also enables them to gain a better understanding of your style as a couple. Whether you decide to create your own or hire an expert, if you are having a rose gold colour scheme, then you are spoilt for choice when it comes to invitations. From a subtle hint on your guest book or table plan to glamorous glitter envelope folds. Another great thing about rose gold is that you can create a sophisticated feel to your special day and still keep to your budget.

When it comes to those special ladies in your life, there are so many options out there from gold sequined dresses, blush dresses with rose gold embellishments or perhaps navy dresses with rose gold accessories and shoes.

If you have recently attended wedding fayres, or flicked through the latest bridal magazine, then you would have noticed that metallic copper and rose gold cakes have continued to grow in popularity amongst grooms and brides. The great thing about this cake trend is that it is an easy way to incorporate rose gold tones into your day in a subtle way.

If you want to have a traditional wedding cake you could decorate an ivory cake with rose gold details, blush ribbons or perhaps flowers from your bridal bouquet. Another option is to make your cake a key focal point by having a sweetie table with the cake placed in the centre and surrounded by rose gold or pale pink sweets such as candyfloss, strawberry bons bons or pink shrimps. The options really are endless when it comes to sweet treats, from pastel pink macaroons, iced cupcakes, or rose gold confetti scattered on the table.

“Your accessories should reflect your personality and amplify your natural beauty”

Just like your dress for the big day, your accessories should help to reflect your personality and amplify your natural beauty. Whilst you may think “how hard can this be?”, there are a lot of factors to take into consideration when purchasing jewellery for such a special occasion. You have probably spent months trawling through the various pages of BRIDE or browsing the likes of Stella York, Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee or Essence of Australia online to help you ascertain exactly what you are looking for when it come to your dress – only to walk into a local boutique and no doubt like me purchase something entirely different. Am I right?

But selecting the right accessories can help to ensure that your bridal look is pulled together nicely and looks polished. Things to consider include your dress and its neckline, your face shape, hair length, skin tone and even your chosen colour palette for the wedding itself.

Sweetheart Necklines: If you decide to wear a statement necklace then pair it with simple studs to ensure you don’t detract from your beautiful dress. Alternatively, a short simple necklace that finishes just above where your dress neckline starts is always a safe option.

Plunge Neckline: Necklaces with a pendant are ideal for setting off this neckline and will complement your dress beautifully.

If you are like me and have a long face then teardrop or long drop earrings are ideal for balancing out your face shape. As explained earlier, your hairstyle is also something that should be taken into consideration. As a relaxed boho hairstyle that is down will hide studs, so bigger earrings are better suited. If you have a shorter neck then you can still opt for longer earrings and then wearing your hair up in a chignon can help to elongate it.

“Radiant Rose Gold”

These stunning rose gold teardrop earrings from the Lace and Favour Belmont collection, are surrounded by twinkling pave set crystals, making them the perfect set to complement your bridal look. What’s more, the delicate design makes them ideal for presenting to your bridesmaids on your wedding morning as they also come packaged in a luxury Ivory and Co box.

With the Christmas office party just around the corner and cold Winter night’s, it got me thinking about my beauty essentials for the festive season. So today I thought I would share with you all, what’s on my list of beauty must have’s.

1. STRUCTURE Smoothshock

At the top of my list has to be this luxurious foam packed full of Abyssinian oil, which not only smells incredible, but also leaves my hair super soft and conditioned. I love using this when I am styling my hair, as it ensures my hair isn’t left feeling dry.

2. Festive Nail Polish

Red, berry, glitter or perhaps some festive nail art in the form of Santa, Rudolph or Frosty the snowman.

3. Signature Scent

This year my go to scent’s have included ‘Wood Sage and Sea Salt’ by Jo Malone, ‘Touch of Pink’ by Lacoste and ‘Si’ by Giorgio Aramani.

4. Naked Heat Eye Palette

This may be a palette for Summer, but I have loved using the brighter tones, to help create a warmer look for the colder season.

5. Meltdown Make-up remover

It is probably the last thing you feel like doing after a night out, but taking care of your skin is incredibly important, as it helps prevent ageing and provides the perfect foundation to your look.

6. All Nighter setting spray

Don’t forget some setting spray to make sure your make-up stays put after evening on the dance floor.

7. XO Balm

This multi-purpose product has you covered when it comes to dry cracked hands and chapped lips.

8. Sparkle

No Christmas outfit would be complete without a bit of added sparkle, this can be jewellery, a sequined top or perhaps a new clutch to hold all of your beauty essentials in.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

With just over 2 weeks to go until Christmas, the Christmas light displays have been switched on, the annual Coca-Cola advert has aired and bloggers up and down the country have already been working hard on this month’s content for Blogmas.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we are all manically striving to find that perfect gift for our loved ones, locate that dress for our office party and make sure we have perfected that recipe for the Christmas cake. It is no wonder that for many the Christmas countdown can leave us feeling burnt-out. Don’t panic! I have just the thing for you, so put your feet up, pour yourself a drink and don’t forget the Quality Street, because I have some fantastic stocking fillers for you today from the lovely people over at MAD BEAUTY.

First up are the rather delightful hand sanitizers that not only feature a festive design but also smell incredible (cranberry, marshmallow and Cherry) and at £2.99 each they won’t break the bank.

Next up are some Disney themed goodies, these were such a lovely surprise as I absolutely loved Minnie Mouse when I was a little girl and desperately needed a hair band to help keep the hair off my face when applying my makeup, so when MAD BEAUTY sent me the cutest Minnie themed headband I couldn’t wait to try it on and again at £4.99 I think it is very reasonable in terms of price.

If you know someone that was born in the 80’s or 90’s then chances are they will probably remember the good old days of slush puppies after school. So if you are looking for a gift that will leave them feeling nostalgic then defiantly consider the trio of lip balms for £7.99. They would make a brilliant secret Santa gift.

Lastly, If you are looking for something to warm up those cold snowy winter nights, then MAD BEAUTY have also created a range that includes a pack of bath salts and a Christmas cracker featuring a mini hand cream with a fresh strawberry fragrance. I absolutely love the cute packaging as it means that you could potentially consider skipping the gift wrapping altogether.

Whether you are looking for vintage wash bags, stationary or affordable stocking fillers and gifts, MAD BEAUTY has you covered.

This post contains press samples, but all opinions and thoughts remain my own.

Last Friday, marked the beginning of December, a clear sign if there ever was one that Christmas is just around the corner. With the countdown already on, I have decided to share some of my favourite Christmas songs, with you guys.

Much to my Fiancé’s amusement, I have been blasting these out in the car, whilst we have been out and about doing our Christmas shopping. Each of these songs holds a special memory for me, from watching my favourite Christmas films such as ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Love Actually’ to taking part in my school Christmas concert and lastly dancing in our living room, whilst decorating the tree. So, without further ado, here are my favourite Christmas songs for the festive season.

Disclaimer: Prepare for some cheesy numbers and a few soundtracks from the ‘Home Alone’ movie.

  1. I wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – Blizzard

  2. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee

  3. Do they Know it’s Christmas – Band Aid

  4. Last Christmas – Wham

  5. All I want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey

  6. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town – The Jackson 5

  7. Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen

  8. Driving Home for Christmas – Chris Rea

  9. Merry Xmas Everybody – Slade

  10. Christmas Is All Around (Love Actually) – Billy Mack

  11. Merry Christmas Everyone – Shakin’ Stevens

What songs are on your ‘Christmas playlist’ for 2017? Do you prefer classics or will you be the first in line to purchase the latest release from Rak-Su?
