• Breakfast at The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and with a trip to London on the cards a few weeks ago for me and Al, I decided to surprise him with Breakfast at The IVY Chelsea Garden restaurant on King’s Road. A previous trip to THE IVY in Guildford along with a post from @mrssofiagouveia on Instagram may of inspired me!

Whilst London plays host to an abundant of restaurants, cafés and eateries across the city, I wanted Al to experience the IVY ambience, service and food.

After pulling in at 197 King’s Road, we were greeted by candy canes, gingerbread men, baubles and a beautiful snowy entrance – it was like something out of a Christmas film and had us feeling all of the festive vibes.

The service did not disappoint either, despite running late due to travel disruptions on our journey up to London, we were greeted with a warm smile, had our coats safely put away in their cloakroom and then escorted to the bar where we could take in the ambience and hustle and bustle.

Then we were promptly seated at a beautiful table right next to a gorgeous red and gold display and seen to by one of the lovely waiters who offered us tea and coffee whilst we pondered over the menu. Well, I say we, it took me precisely 3 seconds to decide, yes you guessed it I went for the fresh pastries with a selection of preserves, hot buttermilk pancakes washed down by the refresing green juice which is packed with lots of healthy goodness.

As for Al, he decided to try their Eggs Royale as well as the Ivy 1917  breakfast blend tea which proved to be a firm favourite with us both. Despite having been to The IVY in Guildford previously, each restaurant has its own unique interior based on its location so naturally The IVY Chelsea Garden provided an elegant backdrop with a floral inspired interior complete with its very own winter terrace and gardens. One thing that was consistent however was the impeccable service and outstanding food which did not disappoint.

Whether you are a Londoner or are travelling up to Oxford Street for a spot of Christmas shopping and looking for somewhere relaxing to enjoy some delicious brekkie, then I highly recommend that you check out this beautiful place. Make sure you book a reservation though, as tables get booked up fast.

    Breakfast is served:

    8am – 11:30am Monday to Friday

    8am – 11 am Saturdays

    9am – 11am Sundays
