With the much anticipated racing event of the season just around the corner and stringent dress codes to follow, you are probably seeking inspiration for the Royal Ascot.

The event which was first founded in 1711 by Queen Anne is renowned for attracting a diverse range of racegoers and is one of the top racing events across Europe with an average annual footfall of 300,000.

Whether, it’s your first time visiting the event which is due to take place from June 14th – 18th or you are a regular, I have scoured the high street to help find something that either inspires you or fulfills your needs on a shoestring budget, so without further ado here are the gorgeous dresses, that are sure to turn a few heads.

    Stunning Florals
    ‘Silves ‘ print anouska dress

First up is this beautiful vintage inspired floral number that comes in at £139 and is perfect for the ‘Royal enclosure’ as it falls just below the knee. This dress is absolutely stunning and would look lovely on an hourglass figure as it has a tulle A-line skirt, which is not only flattering but also adds a nice feminine twist.

Their latest collection is incredible and really does cater for everyone, whatever your size or shape. If you already follow me on Instagram then you will already know that I am obsessed with anything that has a pretty floral design on it. I was literally in retail heaven when I had a look round my local ‘Phase Eight’ concession store and this dress instantly caught my eye. At £110 you can’t go wrong, it is practically an investment as it is such a versatile piece that can be worn for a broad range of events including Weddings.

At £140 this lilac flower dress does fall in at the pricier end of the scale and at 5ft 10in I did personally find this dress borderline with regards to length. If you are a little on the taller side then this would probably be better suited to the ‘grandstand’ area.

If you are on the petite side and on a tighter budget, then this dress ticks all of the boxes at £48. This is a lovely modern twist on the classic ‘LBD’ that should be a staple piece in any capsule wardrobe.

Of course these are just a few examples of the dresses that are currently available this Season. Don’t forget to check out Asos, Oasis, Monsoon and John Lewis to name just a few.

    Accessories

So you have finally found that dress, but you still need to add those final special touches –  the accessories of course! Come back next week for ‘Ascot Accessories’!
