A head turning Fascinator ✔️

A Demure and Stylish Dress ✔️

Do you have all of your Ascot essentials? But are you still struggling to pull your Raceday look together with those final special touches? If you are still looking for that little clutch and that perfect pair of shoes, then stop searching and read my post for more Ascot inspiration!

Coast has always been my go to place when it comes to shopping for gorgeous, eye catching and sophiscated occasion wear. So naturally I was drawn to their latest Summer Collections.

Now I’m not going to lie, it was very difficult for me to select only four clutch bags from their extensive range and I may of been eyeing up most of the store.

My poor Fiance Al had to practically drag me out of Coast before I maxed out my card and politely remind me I was here for my readers and not for a huge shopping spree (a girl can dream).

So let’s get straight into Clutch Bag Heaven!

The Gigi Clutch is ideal if you are seeking a more modern look and would go great with a soft pastel dress. It’s versatility means it can also be paired with a black dress to achieve that elegant evening style.

This eye catching floral clutch would provide the perfect addition to your Ascot outfit, especially if you are trying to make an impact.

When it comes to perfecting that Ascot Look then you can’t go wrong with simple and classic shoes and John Lewis is the perfect place to find exactly that.

Personally I am a huge fan of nude or black court shoes, a-la Kate Middleton, as both these colours go great with the majority of my wardrobe and are brilliant for transforming your look.

However, these beautiful bright pink courts would look great with a floral dress to finish off that summery look.

Style for every occasion.

Style for every occasion.

So when it comes to fascinators I have always been a bit sceptical and I will confess I have had a few reservations on their standard run of the mill flamboyant designs.

However, when I recently paid a visit to my local House of Fraser store, I was not only pleasantly surprised by the vast array of choice on offer by Jacques Vert. But I soon came round to the idea of wearing a fascinator and actually fell in love with a couple.

I initially decided to ease myself into the world of millinery by trying on a classic design in black and white. I really loved the style of the sinamay overlay and it instantly made me feel like a more sophisticated version of myself.

Next I tried a turquoise piped bow hat, the colour is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for this Season. However, I did actually discover after trying on a few more fascinators from the Jacques Vert collection, I was better suited for a more simplistic design with a slight angle incorporated as this was more in proportion for my face shape and also reflected my personality and style better.

The corsage flower disc (pictured below) was an absolute steal at £59.00 down from £119.00. This fresh design would look great with a mint or floral dress.

This pink feather disc headpiece (£119.00) completely captivated me, the colour really enhanced my face and the contrast against my blonde hair made me feel like this was a potential head turner for all the right reasons. Moreover, it’s feminine and sophisticated design would provide the perfect foundation for any outfit.

Ultimately, whether you decide to go for a hat or fascinator, flamboyant or classic. The most important thing to remember when selecting your headpiece is that it enhances your features and reflects your personality!

He has finally asked that all important question – what’s next? Choosing your special ladies to share your big day with of course! “Bridesmaid proposals” are growing increasingly popular and just like engagements are becoming more and more elaborate. With the average bridesmaid spending literally £100’s on their dress, alterations, hair and makeup, accessories as well as the hen party, being a bridesmaid can prove to be a huge financial commitment.

After taking all of this into consideration, I decided to ask each one of my special ladies individually face-to-face. Just like everything else in life, researched a few ideas on the Internet. After stumbling across the initial idea of a “bridesmaid proposal”, I chose to base it around our wedding colour scheme (Pink and Pastels).

I also included an information pack which provided details on our wedding venue, date, potential dress designers, flower inspiration and a little biography on each of the girls. I included a pink Yankee candle, pink drink, pink sweets, pink cup, pink champagne truffles, pink nail polish and a pink paint chart to provide some inspiration for the bridesmaid dresses.

For my ‘Matron of Honour’ I also included a note pad to keep notes and ideas in and a love heart decor piece to make it extra special.

Obviously, you can tailor this idea to each of your special ladies. I actually decided to get a nice necklace and some scented drawer liners for one of my bridesmaids. If you are on a tight budget, then why not propose to each of your special ladies by ordering them a beautiful card from (notonthehighstreet.com) this also ensures that they have something to treasure in years to come, as they can pop this into a photo frame.

According, to the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) there were approximately 440,000 cases in relation to work related stress, depression and anxiety in 2014/2015.

This really doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering today’s fast paced lifestyle that we have all grown accustomed to. Factor in our desire to be constantly connected via social media and technology and you can begin to understand why such a large percentage of the population feel overwhelmed and disconnected from real life.

So, the big question is – what can we all do to help reduce our stress levels and how can we feel less anxious?  Well, according to a study that was carried out in 2015 by Yale and the UCLA there is evidence that suggests that there is a direct link between kindness and the reduction of our stress levels.

So, before I go off on a tangent, here are just a few examples of the things you can do to help reduce your own personal stress levels as well as make you feel happier.

  1. Smile.
  2. Hold the door open for someone.
  3. Be patient.
  4. Spend more time with your loved ones.
  5. Be spontaneous – go to that restaurant that is over 30 miles away, jump in the car and drive to some random place.
  6. Help out around the house and do some chores.
  7. Cook a nice meal for someone.
  8. Be polite – say please and thank you.
  9. Laugh
  10. Be supportive and not critical to your friends and family.
  11. Give someone a hug/ kiss.
  12. Tell them you love them often.
  13. Phone someone to let them know you care.
  14. Donate to charity.
  15. Buy a homeless person a hot meal.
  16. Send someone a card, letter or email to let them know you are thinking of them.
  17. Arrange a street Party or BBQ.
  18. Put your phone away when you are out for a meal with your family, friends or partner.
  19. Offer help if you see someone struggling
  20. Carry someone’s shopping to the car for them.
  21. Buy your loved one some soup and a few of their favourite things when they are sick.
  22. Have fun at all times.
  23. Eat healthy food.
  24. Exercise regularly.
  25. Be kind to yourself.
  26. Don’t use others as a benchmark – the only person who you need to please is yourself.
  27. Listen to music.
  28. Dance.
  29. Spend more time with those that matter to you.
  30. Let someone go in front of you at the supermarket.

I hope you have found this post helpful. If you are suffering from any of these conditions, then please do seek help from a medical professional.
