• Jo Malone English Fields Launch 2018

    * Thank you Katie Kirk for kindly letting me use your images from the event.

Last Saturday was a very exciting day for me, in the morning I went and gave notice for our wedding later this year and in the evening I travelled down to Chichester, where the lovely Katie Kirk and the Jo Malone team had put on a stunning bloggers event, in the local House of Fraser store, as part of the launch for their new limited edition fragrance collection – English Fields.

    Play. Combine. Create.

First, we were encouraged to mingle with the other lovely ladies whilst sipping on grapefruit prosecco, fresh grapefruit juice and delicious tiny morsels such as miniature scones with jam and cream, shortbread and biscuits that were all lovingly prepared and served to us by the incredibly talented Wild Mint Kitchen Café.

    “Quintessentially British”

After catching up with some familiar faces, Peter – the store manager – and the team at the local Chichester store spoke to us about the 5 new fragrances that had been created by Celine Roux and Mathilde Bijaoui as part of the new English Fields collection that had been inspired by fresh florals, cereals and grains from the English countryside.

We were each provided with an opportunity to take in the new scents which included Poppy and Barley, Green Wheat and meadow-sweet, Primrose and Rye, Honey and Crocus and Oat and cornflower.

I instantly fell in love with two of the new scents, first the striking freshness of rich red poppies which was softened with powdery notes of musk. The warmth, cheerfulness and happiness that this scent evoked, instantly made it perfect for a Spring day.

Next was Primrose and Rye which immediately had me drifting off to some exotic beach in the Indonesian ocean. This fragrance is warmed with gold corn, brightened with mimosa and softened with vanilla notes and rye. The best way to describe all of the new scents for me personally is “sunshine in a bottle”.

    “Five Captivating Scents”

Peter was such a lovely host and made us ladies feel like VIPs for the evening, topping up our glasses of prosecco and offering us more delicious scones, whilst we all enjoyed a beauty pamper from Bobbi Brown as well as hand and arm massages from the lovely ladies at Jo Malone. What more could you wish for?

Having been a fan of the Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne for quite some time now, I was eager to try out some new scents and when Lyn, the House of Fraser beauty manager, told me that the Jo Malone collection had been designed so that you can combine more than one fragrance, to help create a scent that reflects your mood and personality, I was excited to try it out for myself!

Despite, sadly losing all of my data on my iPhone (more on that in a separate post) I was left feeling rejuvenated, pampered and eager to get my hands on the new collection. Having met all of the team in Chichester, I will defiantly be travelling back down there for my complimentary bridal consultation and to purchase my very own personalised bridal fragrance – Peony and Blush Suede is already a firm favourite.

After an evening of pampering, delicious food and wonderful company, we were each given our very own gift box, complete with our own personal blog hashtag stickers and ceramic tags which had our initials embossed on. I will confess, I am absolutely terrible at gift wrapping, so it came as no surprise to me when I couldn’t nail the traditional Jo Malone bow. Luckily for me, the lovely team were on hand to help me out.

The new English Fields collection is expected to fly off the shelves fast within the next three weeks. So, if you want to experience the essence of the English landscape, make sure you get your hands on one of these beautiful and captivating scents from £47.00 for 30ml.
